Finding A Home Close To Work

Whenever you live and/or work in a big city, or even a city of average size, it can seem like you are spending just as much of your free time in your vehicle as you are anywhere else. As soon as you get away from your job in data encryption, you can find yourself stuck in traffic. You might drive home, you might take the bus or even the train, but traffic is an inevitable part of your day. And you are at the mercy of the traffic gods when it comes to just how long you will be in that traffic for.

Then you finally get home, and grab yourself a quick supper before you have to head out onto the road once more. Maybe you need to take your daughter to her contemporary dance lesson or your son to a hockey game; maybe you are going out for yourself. Whatever the reason, you will find yourself voluntarily heading into traffic once again.

Weeks and weeks of this can mean you spend 90% of your time commuting, and just 10% at your home. It is enough to fray the nerves of even the most patient people. How can you avoid spending most of your off work time being spent in a vehicle? Is there a way to cut out the commute so you don't feel as if you are surrounded by Saginaw enclosures all day long?

Well, the best way is to find a home that is as close as possible to where you work. Most of our travel time every day, and certainly the least enjoyed part of it, is spent getting to and from work. If you live a certain distance away, you may find yourself having to leave your house an hour or more before you start work, and getting home hours after you are done. And that's not even including extra trips into the Toronto naturopathic clinic to treat the many ailments this kind of stress causes.

If you look for a home which is closer to where you work, you may find your commute time cut in half or even more. You won't be in your car nearly as much, and you will have a lot of extra time to yourself.

Of course, you will also generally have to pay a price for the convenience. Any Sutton real estate agent can tell you that in the London listings, neighbourhoods closer to employment centres have more expensive houses than in other places. It's up to you to decide if the extra cost you'll pay is worth the extra time you'll have.
